The Science of Sleep

Just been to see the Science of Sleep by Michel Gondry. That is a man that knows about love and heartbreak. It's a great film, full of whimsy and romance and with a dark undercurrent as well as a few good jokes and lots of very clever visual stuff. Not much to complain about. I am really glad that I didn't go to see it on my own, it's one of those films you have to be able to talk about afterwards otherwise you feel suicidally lonely. I was supposed to go and see it with a girl last week (Mary) and again this week but she chickened out and I went with a friend. It's a terrible shame that I didn't get to see it with Mary, because I know that she would be the perfect person to see it with, I am sure her head works in the same way. It's one of those films where you can turn to the person afterwards and say, see? I'm not that bad, and that film explains a lot about ME. Just like all songs are about me. Still, hopefully I will see her on my birthday at the weekend. My friends are putting on a live music night that night so the scene is all set. Hope she shows...
