Back to basics

Let's get it over with. My name is *** **** and I live in ********* in the UK.

At the moment I make websites part-time, I am sick of making websites.
I'm looking for something else to do, there's a job lead for being a professional charity pest that I might take a gamble on, slightly unsocial hours and not a fortune, but! no office, no 9.00 am start.... It would be a short term fix and I think I might do it (for now). I am supposed to be looking for re-training of some some sort. I would like to be a) a comedy writer or b) a forest manager. Not very compatible but who said it had to be?

I have just moved house, and it's taken forever to get the internet back. During my last posts I was seeing someone called Tess, who is very wonderful, but sadly we're just mates now. On the good side, we really are mates so she hasn't gone away...

My mum was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, but it's all going about as well as it can - she's had a mastectomy and is waiting tests to confirm everything is now ok. I feel sure it will be, I went up and saw her at the weekend, and she looks very well. More when the results come in. It's hard to know how to feel, I haven't been as upset as I feel I should have been, but it's all been so fast and she already seems over it. She's holding up ok, and because she saw me through Leukemia when I was 14 we at least have that in common... (another story, the big L)
